NPA Crowned Champions Of 2025 National Fire Day Tournament-As Fire Rangers Edge Orange In Exhibition Thriller

The boys from the National Port Authority (NPA) have been crowned champions for the 2025 National Fire Day tournament following a decisive 2-0 victory over the fire department of Liberia Airport Authority.
The grand final of the one-day sporting tournament that took place among fire fighting units of different institution was marked by an outstanding show of sportsmanship.
Leaving the port with high gear, NPA fire department saw the back of the net twice against the airport managers just before the final whistle to end the sporting side of the Fire Day Celebration could blow.
NPA two goals left LAA hope of claiming the tournament to tarrying state for another year.
All the entities missing out will now have to prepare for the next edition in order to make a comeback or still fall victims to the National Port Authority who will have the full responsibility to defend the championship in the next edition.
Before going to the final, NPA had to clash against Connex Liberia and win before booking a space while on the other end, LAA played to a draw against the Liberia Petroleum Refinery Company.
The Oil Boys lost their encounter on a post-match penalties session which ended their faith in stones.
Meanwhile, Liberian national Fire Service as the official host of the competition played an exhibition match against the official event sponsor Orange Liberia in classic showpiece.
The Fire Rangers engaged the encounter against the country’s highest football sponsor with determination of triumph on fulltime regularity which was easy to maintain.
From start time, Fire men was on the line opening the scoreboard with good coordination in attack.
Though the sponsors team got a controversial equalizer in the first half, the host raised the bar in the dying minutes of the second half to seal the deal with an overwhelming fire celebration.
In kickball, LPRC won NPA in the finals to be crowned champions.
The girls from LPRC after three competitive innings chased from base to base getting home nine times while NPA only got three.
LPRC 9-3 homerun over NPA made them the performing side in the women discipline to end the final with six homes margin.
The annual Fire Day Tournament, organized by the Liberia National Fire Service, is part of activities commemorating International Firefighters Day.
The event brings together public and private sector firefighting units for a day of sports, unity, and recognition of the sacrifices and contributions made by fire service personnel across Liberia.
