President Joseph Boakai is expected to launch the much-anticipated Ambassadorial Lecture and Seminar Series at the Gabriel L. Dennis Foreign Service Institute (FSI) on today, May 2, 2025.
The landmark event, set to take place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will bring together high-ranking government officials, members of the diplomatic corps, Foreign Affairs Minister Sara Beysolow Nyanti, the UNDP Resident Representative, Director General, administrators and students of the Foreign Service Institute.
President Boakai is slated to deliver a keynote address under the theme: “The ARREST Agenda and Liberia’s Foreign Policy Initiatives.”
His remarks will underscore the administration’s vision for diplomatic engagement and international cooperation through the ARREST development framework, which prioritizes Agriculture, Roads, Rule of Law, Education, Sanitation, and Tourism.
The Ambassadorial Lecture and Seminar Series aim to provide students and diplomats with deeper insights into foreign policy, global diplomacy, and Liberia’s role on the international stage.
The initiative is part of a broader effort to equip young diplomats with the tools and knowledge necessary to represent Liberia effectively in a complex and evolving global environment.
Minister Nyanti is expected to deliver opening remarks, highlighting the ministry’s commitment to revamping the country’s diplomatic institutions and training programs.
She has previously emphasized the importance of bridging academic knowledge with practical diplomatic experience to better serve Liberia’s national interests.
According to the FSI’s administration, the series will feature a rotating lineup of experienced ambassadors, policy experts, and international partners who will lead discussions on critical issues.
Students of the Foreign Service Institute have welcomed the program, describing it as a timely and valuable addition to their academic curriculum.
Many believe it will offer real-world perspectives that complement classroom instruction and prepare them to navigate the intricacies of diplomacy with confidence and competence.
The event marks a significant step toward strengthening Liberia’s Foreign Service capacity and aligns with President Boakai’s broader agenda of institutional reform and capacity building.
As Liberia repositions itself on the world stage, initiatives like the Ambassadorial Lecture Series demonstrate the government’s resolve to invest in the future of its diplomatic corps.
