President Joseph Boakai is set to host a fundraising dinner in support of the country’s campaign for a non-permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).
The high-profile event, scheduled for Saturday, May 3, 2025, will serve as a rallying point for national support as Liberia intensifies efforts to secure a seat on the world’s top peace and security body.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is leading the campaign, which includes a vigorous diplomatic outreach to garner votes from UN member states.
This is a historic opportunity for Liberia to contribute meaningfully to global peace and security, a successful bid will not only elevate our international standing but also position us as a key voice in shaping global policy.
The fundraising dinner is open to all patriotic Liberians and supporters of the campaign. Organizers are calling on citizens at home and abroad to contribute to this national effort. “When Liberia wins, we all win,” the message read.
Liberia’s campaign for the UNSC seat represents a renewed commitment to international diplomacy, peacebuilding, and multilateral cooperation.
